My Story
Carol Shaw Austad, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist, a Professor of Psychology, a Co-Coordinator of Peace Studies, a wife, and a member of the human race who believes that if humanity is to survive, we must provide love and care immediately for our only home, our planet.
Carol, the author of numerous academic publications and books, abides in New Britain, Connecticut. She is a professor in public education at Central Connecticut State University. Her journeys to the Hawaiian Islands brought her to an understanding that Hawaii is a microcosm of the macrocosm of humanity's troubled relationships with one another and Mother Earth. This insight inspired her to write The Aloha Paradigm: Changing the Climate, a fiction novel that sees ancient Hawaiian wisdom with its aloha as a way to heal the trauma attached to our deeply disturbing global crises. The book is a call to all to use aloha to save our sacred Mother Earth.
